Day 19 – Beautifully Boring; Local Heros and Relaxation

The flat farmland of central Illinois.

Yes, a tad boring but this cycler’s dream. Flat, flat and more flat. I was able to get into a nice pace as I headed to the burg of Hume, Illinois. Population 400. Diane is joining me for some much needed relaxation. The mind and body are both looking forward to these next couple of days.

For the car restoration fans, here are some sweet wheels between Decatur and Tuscola Illinois.
Towns big and small celebrate the successes of their hometown athletes.

The sign tells it all. Football, basketball, track, volleyball, softball – athletes and teams that excelled are honored. Some even go back decades. A lot of good, hometown pride!

As I mentioned earlier, Diane and I found a real nice Bed & Breakfast in Hume, Illinois. It was 8 days since my last day off from the cycling and I’m glad for it. I am going to post blogs the next couple of days with random thoughts I haven’t covered.

Thanks to all for your support!
