Day 24 – H and H’s; Potpourri (again)

Hills of Indiana

The day started off with just some hills to climb. They weren’t all that bad. But soon after I hit the road, dial up a headwind and you get an H and H day. That’s short for Headwinds and Hills. Not at all the great of a combination for cycling.

I couldn’t resist

Me and red barns. I haven’t a clue why I like seeing red barns, but I do. Maybe it goes back to my teenage days when we loaded bailed hay into the barn

Take a look at the clarity of the water

I enjoyed passing over a river where I could actually see the river bottom. Yes – I daydreamed how nice it would be to have a worm on a hook and have that line in the water so it would look like I was fishing when in reality I would be doing nothing but enjoying the moment.

More yard art???
Where’s Waldo?

This past year I’ve been to the venues for long races: Daytona and Indianapolis. And, yes, I do know. NASCAR vs. Formula I.

Hooray for Rails-to-Trails

I ended the day riding on this and will ride on it to start tomorrow! While in Indianapolis, I took the bicycle to Indy Cycle Specialists for a 1,000-mile check-up. Wonderful and helpful crew there. I was fortunate to have found them right on my route.

Heading to Richmond, Indiana from Indianapolis.
