Day 31 – Visiting a City; Thoughts of the Next Month

The Old, The New and The Lazy River

The foreground is the old suspension bridge over the Ohio River in Wheeling, West Virginia. Behind it the new bridge of I-70. The Ohio river which has seen its days of busy river traffic supporting this part of the nation and supplying those heading west. A nicely written historical placard describing this once bustling wharf, rail station and crossroads of the nation’s highway.

Now that I’ve crossed the Midwest, tomorrow I head into the heart of the Appalachians. Yes, I am a bit nervous as to what lies ahead. Many good memories of people and places from the last month.

A very good recouping time with Diane. We split on the card game winners. Next stop is Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
