Just one of the many great views from the top. Yes, I’ve reduced the number of pics of me at the top of a summit. My brother Rick told me about the basins and ridges of US-50, and I could have probably bored you with many pictures from the top of a ridge. Although from a bicycle they are all different, they do begin to look similar in a photo. As I mentioned, one of my guessing games is where the road takes me over the next ridge. I’m usually wrong.
Diane met me between Eureka and Ely. She’s one fantastic woman and girlfriend. She drove from Colorado to be with me the rest of the journey. Not only is her companionship a very welcomed part of the adventure but she’ll SAG for me which means I lose 30# of stuff in my two panniers. She puts a smile on my face!
Tomorrow is my 75th birthday so I’ll be taking a day off with my sweetheart. After cycling most of the way to Ely, we actually drove back to Eureka for the next day and a half. A bit confusing, I know, but I’ll still end up cycling the whole way.
