I left Chillicothe, MO in the rain. But to my surprise, and relief, it was not cold. I did have on a “baseball game in the rain” type of plastic poncho with arm slots so it helped a bit. Although the skies were clear to the east, the storm was headed from the west to the east so within a couple of miles there were only rain clouds and rain. So, I had rain for all but the last hour of the ride when the clear skies caught up to me. Bicycle and gear were a dirty mess, but all is cleaned and relatively dry, even me.
Anyone know why a red barn is such a find?
Apparently, Macon is known for its maple trees. Businesses in town are labeled maple this and maple that. A useless piece of trivia that might come in handy someday. Notice the sun? Finally!
Since most of the day was concentrating on wet pavement and the wide assortment of bicycling road hazards such as pebbles, pieces of asphalt, metal this and that, I really do not have a lot to say and blog about. This last picture though is for Diane and any other classic red truck fans out there.
Tomorrow I’m headed to Hannible Missouri. Supposed to be a clear day, not too terribly hot.
