In leaving Carson City, a little bit on the road and then mostly on the bike path. The path crossed private property, so this was how people were allowed to cross. Pretty nice!
This was one of the easiest rides yet. Not the most scenic, but easy. I dropped over 3,000 in elevation, had a tail wind a lot of the way, and actually averaged 14.8 mph for the 65 miles.
A lot of level road but there were rollers. Climbs were longer so less steep. Much easier than the steep ones encountered in Kansas and Pennsylvania.
As I said, not very scenic. But a nice wide shoulder.
I was originally going to stop in Middlegate tomorrow, but the one motel is booked. So, I’ll be adding about 14 miles to the trip going to Cold Springs Station.
The road is beginning to climb back up in elevation, so I’ve enjoyed my one day a fast riding (for me). I’m planning on staying in Cold Springs Station two nights to for some muscle resting.
